Hear Miley Cyrus's Title Track From Her New Album "Younger Now"
The old Miley is back! Or is the new Miley here? Or is she living a double life between the Bangerz era and the Malibu era? Is Disney Channel behind this? Regardless of these theories, Miley has yet again changed her ever-evolving image into a hippie, rainbow chasing, blonde pixie. Since her release of “Malibu”, she has shown the world that she is moving forward and in a completely different direction from her “Blurred Lines” grinding, foam finger past (because no matter what happens, we will never forget).
Reeling from the positive response to her “Malibu” image and sound, Cyrus has released her second single from her upcoming album titled Younger Now. Instead of denying or trying to redefine her past, like almost all celebrities try to do after a controversial phase, Miley has a refreshingly honest and positive message. She writes that it feels like she’s woken up, obviously referencing her wild and infamous Bangerz days where she has admitted to being high throughout. She has publicly blamed her insane behavior on weed, but I think we all know that she was doing a lot more than pot. Whatever the case, her new single continues in her new image and offers very personal insight to how she is doing since her “Wrecking Ball” days.
While most people would expect the pop star to think of herself as older and more mature after going through a very public breakup and controversial career change, Miley feels the opposite, claiming that she is “Younger Now”. Perhaps this is because she isn’t doing drugs, or because of her reunion with off and on again fiance Liam Hemsworth, or simply because Miley is finally being her real self. I mean, the girl's whole career has been a carousel of different identities, on and off the screen, and I think that would take its toll on anyone. While I personally was entertained by the Bangerz era (R.I.P), I’m proud of Miley for coming out of it on a positive side, and producing the kind of music that she’s proud of. Hopefully, this will be the last time that Miley redefines herself and her career so we can all relax on our couches during the VMA’s again.
Happy Jamming!
